BIOGRAPHY | |
Bill Balaskas (b.1983, Thessaloniki, Greece)is an artist, theorist and educator. He is an Associate Professor and Director of Research, Business and Innovation at the School of Art & Architecture of Kingston University, London. His practice incorporates a variety of media to investigate contemporary political issues, with a particular focus on economics and the existential threats facing humanity today: climate change, global conflict, and technological dystopias. His works have been widely exhibited internationally, in galleries, museums, festivals, and public spaces. In 2012, Balaskas represented the UK in the London Cultural Olympiad (WEYA) and in Maribor, European Capital of Culture, while the Global Board of Contemporary Art nominated him for the ALICE Award (Public's Voice Winner). He is represented by Kalfayan Galleries, Athens-Thessaloniki.
